Web Development
Microsoft IIS4, IIS5, IIS5.1, IIS6, IIS7 and IIS7.5 orientated web sites since 1997 using classic ASP (Active Server Pages,), ASP.Net, .Net, .Net web services, RPC, REST, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, XHTML, CSS, XML, MSXML, XSD, XSLT, JSON, AJAX, IIRF, Flash Media Server, Google Minis, Google Appliances, Google Map APIs, IE5/IE6/IE7/IE8 and Firefox 3.x compatibility issues, User Experience (UX,) performance and scalability optimization and testing, front-end design, implementation of clean XHTML/CSS site wrappers from Photoshop PSD mock-ups, advanced SEO with proven results, Google Analytics, uptime and performance metrics and monitoring, security permissions, web application hardening for cross site scripting (XSS) and SQL injection, SMTP, MAPI, CDOEX (Exchange,) CDONTS, CDOSys, System.Net.Mail (.Net,) EHLAPPI and Rumba APIs, Crystal Web Reports, programmatic FTP, screen scraping, ADSI and LDAP, installation scripts. Some minor PHP v5 on Apache. Most work has been using Microsoft Technologies (ASP and .Net) going against MS SQL Server databases.

Windows Development
Windows DLL and executable development since 1994, including Windows applications and operating system services using Visual Basic (VB) v3 through v6 and .Net/VS.Net, including VB.Net. VBScript, VBA (Outlook, Excel, MapPoint, Word Access,) COM, DCOM, COM+, MTS, OLE and DDE. Crystal Reports (all version to v9 and Crystal Web Reports,) Infragistics UltraSuite, Sheridan Widgets, TrueGrid/DbGrid, RoseGUI, MS Code Profiler, XML Spy, ADSIEdit. Client/server, 3-tier and n-tier models. CustomerQ integration. Rational Rose UML object modeling, Visio and ABC Flowcharter.

Other Development
Assembler (68000 series.) Rational Rose UML object modeling, Visio and ABC Flowcharter. Team Foundation Server (TFS), Subversion (SVN), Visual Source Safe (VSS) and Intersolv PVCS code repositories, version control and release management systems. Various bug tracking systems such as TFS, BugZilla, CustomerQ and Issue Manager.

Database Technologies
Used in both web development and Windows development projects. Microsoft Windows - all versions - includes DLL/executable development and production support for Windows 2008 Server, Windows 2003 Server, Windows 2000 Server, Windows NT Server, Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP. Microsoft Exchange. Limited Linux exposure (Ubuntu / Debian). Past experience with Citrix WinFrame/WinCenter, MS-DOS (all versions,) UNIX (OSF Motif, NeXTSTep, HP-UX System V, SunOS,) Novell, Banyan Vines, AS/400, Sequent, ICL and Wang.

Network Management
Data center management, web farm management including security hardening and performance optimization, monitoring and troubleshooting, network design, firewalls, load balancers (Big IP etc.,) domain and DNS management, mail servers, security and network administration including Active Directory/LDAP configuration, VOIP telephone systems (TalkSwitch.)

Team Management
Licentiate of the Institute of Data Processing Management (LIDPM.) Management of off-shore development teams in 2009 and 2010 for eVenues. Director of Engineering at Hillclimb Media and Demand Media (2005 to 2009) responsible for recruiting and running multiple development teams and support staff, office and production environments and defining the SDLC, processes and standards as well as undertaking performance reviews. Lead Engineer and project manager for InterMune, recruiting and managing a team of developers from 2001 to 2004. Chief Engineer at Achieva.com in 2000 and 2001, dealing with both in-house staff and an off-shore development team. Resource and project management using Microsoft Project coupled with formal design methodologies.
